Established in 1993, the Central Library of “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy (MVNIA) is the institution’s info documentary and cultural-scientific specialized arm. It actively participates in supporting scientific research, educational processes, specialization and professional development. The library facilitates the study of documents and books both in the reading room and at home – for 30 days.

 

Collections

The library has currently over 61,000 volumes (over 17,000 books, publications, serials, videos, etc.), which ensure the documentation needs for all undergraduate and postgraduate academic disciplines, and the support needed for papers, graduation theses, dissertations, and research projects. MVNIA also provides subscriptions to online Romanian and foreign periodical publications.

At the same time, the library is engaged in interlibrary loan programs to provide documentary materials that are not in our collections.

The library holds important collections of documents in the fields of intelligence and counterintelligence, geopolitics, globalization, communication, psychology, sociology, terrorism and counterterrorism, international relations, security and safety, espionage and counterespionage, organized crime, etc.

Collections are extended through acquisitions, transfer from “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy Publishing House, donations, and interlibrary exchange.

The library possesses an important number of reference works: Encyclopaedia Britannica, Encyclopaedia of Sociology, International Encyclopaedia of Terrorism, Spy Book: The Encyclopaedia of Espionage, etc.

Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Sunday: closed
